Our story
Richmond Türk Okulu opened in 2026 under the founding of Mehmet Yüceer, as Richmond Turkish School CLG. We teach in two groups at Deer Park School on Sundays.
For us Turkish isn’t just a lesson — it’s how a child speaks with their grandfather, grandmother, and cousin. That is why we lean on the warmth of family as much as on the curriculum.
Our purpose
Working from a programme aligned with the Turkish national curriculum and tuned to age groups, we help children love Turkish, read and write in it, and come to know their culture. The aim is a Sunday on which a child doesn’t shy away from Turkish but enjoys it.
Our founding principles
A happy, safe Turkish setting that inspires learning; play, conversation, enquiry and practical activity. Putting language and culture into daily life; confidence, kindness, empathy and working together. Co-education; no uniform (except for games and special days); classes as small as possible; questions and dialogue, not rote learning. Curriculum trips are included in the fee (third-party travel excepted).
Backed by the T.C. London Consulate-General and the Ministry of National Education
Our school operates with the support of the T.C. London Consulate-General; our teachers are appointed by the T.C. Ministry of National Education. This connection keeps our curriculum aligned with Turkish standards and our teachers accredited in their field.
